Five years ago,
July 15, 2006,
launched a
microblogging site Twitter to the public.
Twitter is
now celebrating
the great success he achieved as
one of the most
popular social
media in the
world.
"There are only
224 tweets, sent
on July 15, 2006.
Now, that number is sent by our users in less than a
tenth of a second,"
the statement via Twitter account @twitterglobalpr.
"Yesterday we
received more
than 600 thousand registration.
Before we take
more than 16
months to reach
600 thousand our
first account," he said as quoted by
the Straits Times, Saturday
(16/07/2011).
Currently, Twitter claims can transmit up to 350 billion tweet its
users every day.
"Sending 350
billion Tweet every day is a fun challenge. But it can not describe
the spirit that
possessed our
users," he concluded.
Twitter co-
founder Jack
Dorsey recorded
his first tweet
sent on March 21, 2006 before finally releasing the site on July 15. Twitter
is now known to
have more than
200 million users
worldwide.
