Gerrard can not play
for four weeks after
undergoing surgery
on his groin injury,
the English league
club said on Friday.
Gerrard, who did not
play at Europa
League game
against Braga on
Thursday, will now
miss four matches
left in league
Liverpool England
United Kingdom and
also in the provision
for Euro 2012
against Wales on 26
March.
"Liverool FC today
confirmed that
Steven Gerrard has
undergone
successful surgery to
his groin and will not
play for four weeks,"
Liverpool said in a
statement.
"The
decision was made
after consultation
with the doctor."
Gerrard has been
marred by a groin
injury during his
career, including as
2002, when he was
forced to withdraw
from England's World
Cup team.
